Palmetto Bay Independence Celebration

For the fourth year, the Village of Palmetto Bay celebrated July 4th with fantastic fireworks and wholesome family fun.

The weather was picture perfect, albeit hot, while an estimated 5000 people enjoyed the 6:00-9:00 p.m. festivities.

“I think we had an incredible community event. We are the best of small town USA,” explained Mayor Eugene Flinn, “We cut back a lot on funding, call it government light, and with our staff working hard we had our biggest year ever for sponsorships.”

Indeed, it was barely noticed as the throngs of attendees enjoyed evening.

Michael Baiamonte, the voice of the Miami Heat and Palmetto Bay resident, served as the MC once again as the crowd took in the food trucks, live bands, tons of rides for the kids...

...LED Dancers and of course a 15-minute fireworks show that went far beyond the small town USA feel.

Pinecrest resident Lisa Deluca said, “I’m so happy that we came this year. My kids had a blast, it was safe and best of all it was just a short drive down US-1.”
