Shula Burger Comes to Pinecrest

Although there are seven corporately-owned Shula Burger locations across Florida with one in West Kendall, sadly none are close to us. Well, with the help of new Miami-Dade County franchise owner Lisa Abbott, we’re about to have a Shula Burger right here. “We’re excited to bring high quality customer service, great food and unparalleled dining ambiance to our friends in Pinecrest,” explained Abbott.

“We already love this community and have met so many wonderful people. We’re excited to open our doors to them,” exclaimed Abbott. “We hope to follow this quickly with four more locations, but Pinecrest was purposefully first.”

The fast-casual Shula Burger restaurant serves chef-crafted burgers made from a signature blend of Black Angus chuck, brisket and short rib. The sauces are house-made. Sides include sweet potato tots, sea salt fries and onion rings. Green salad and a veggie burger option are available as well. A variety of shakes and floats made with Haagen-Dazs ice cream for the richer, sweet drinks. There’s also craft and domestic beer, plus sommelier selected wines, each chosen to enhance the burger profiles.

“We met the Shula family and they were so gracious and inviting it was an incredible, organic experience, remarked Abbott. “We toured their other locations and knew this was a great franchise fit for us.”

The Pinecrest Shula Burger location is 2256 square feet and seats approximately 80-100 inside and on an outdoor patio. They’ll employ approximately 30 part-time and 2-3 full-time staff. General Manager (know as Head Coach in Shula Burger lingo) Todd Elliott remarked, “We’ve been building out for about eight month here and we can’t wait to bring our unique Shula Burgers to the public.”

The soft launch will start on the same day this newspaper is published and will run a month. The grand opening is slated for March 6. Shula Burger is located in the Pinecrest Shops, 12311 South Dixie Hwy.
