Citizens-Led Town Hall for a Better Palmetto Bay

When communication and information is needed, that's where I jump in. With a career in broadcast television in my rear-view mirror, I use that experience as my new passion/hobby. For the past eight years or so, I've made it a point to cover Palmetto Bay "news" and amplify voices that need to be heard.

That is why I am proud to be spearheading a Town Hall meeting that should help inform our residents so that we may have a bright future in Palmetto Bay.

Here's the pitch...

When: October 5, 2016 at 6:30 pm
Where: Graciously hosted by and at the Palmetto Bay Village Center

Palm Room - 18001 Old Cutler Road (Enter at SW 184 St)
What: Palmetto Bay Citizens-Led Candidates’ Forum/Town Hall Meeting
Moderator: Cynthia Demos, former CBS4 anchor/reporter and owner of Cynthia Demos

If you are tired of confusing information, mass email campaigns, Facebook threads and anonymous websites about the important issues in Palmetto Bay or just want to hear directly from our Village leaders and candidates, this Citizens-Led Candidates’ Forum/Town Hall for a Better Palmetto Bay meeting is for you. Break through the clutter and hear directly about the matters that affect us as Palmetto Bay residents.

Our ‪November 8th elections are just around the corner and we’ll hear the sitting Village Council and registered candidates talk about relevant issues, back their claims, and clarify their positions to us. The event will focus on major topics of traffic, parks, the potential development of the Palmetto Bay Village Center and what’s going on with Downtown development and potential annexation.

The evening will consist of three distinct back-to-back meetings:

  1. VICE MAYOR CANDIDATES' FORUM

  2. COUNCIL SEAT 2 CANDIDATES' FORUM

  3. VILLAGE COUNCIL TOWN HALL

Invited participants: Mayor Eugene Flinn, Vice Mayor John DuBois (running for re-election), District 1 Councilmember Karyn Cunningham, District 2 Councilmember Tim Schaffer (running for re-election), District 3 Councilmember Larissa Siegel-Lara, Erica Watts (running for Vice Mayor), David Zisman (running for Vice Mayor), David Singer (running for District 2 Councilmember), Village Manager Ed Silva, Village Attorney Dexter Lehtinen and Village Police Commander Major Gadyaces Serralta.

Send a message by attending this event that our Village residents want facts and fair dealings with and among our government so we can keep our community strong and healthy. Get involved. We look forward to seeing you there!

 Respectfully-
Palmetto Bay Board of Citizens
